It feels like a new name enters the fold for Clemson basketball every single day and today is no different.
Well, technically, this was from Sunday, but you get the idea.
The Tigers have been reaching out to dozens of portal players and they have even landed three of their own in Nick Davidson (Nevada), Carter Welling (Utah Valley), and RJ Godfrey (Georgia) over the past week. While those are three really quality additions from the portal, it feels like Brad Brownell and the Tigers need to be targeting a guard.
Brownell is doing just that, reaching out to Washington guard transfer Mekhi Mason over the weekend.
Washington transfer guard Mekhi Mason is receiving interest from the following programs, per his agent Teddy Archer:

Mason spent the past season at Washington after beginning his career with Rice. He averaged over 14 points per game as a sophomore with the Owls before transferring to Washington where he averaged 9.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He also shot 43 percent from the floor and 40 percent from deep.
Free throw shooting could use some work, but he converted on a career-best 71 percent from the charity stripe this past season with the Huskies.
Clemson seems like a solid fit for Mason who wouldn't be the primary ball-handler, but he could be a nice long-range specialist who could also drive the lane and get to the rim with his 6-foot-5 frame.
Mason is drawing other high-major interest from Texas, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Maryland, BYU, Cincinnati, and West Virginia. He clearly has a lot of potential suitors at the high-major level but Clemson may be able to offer him the most playing time with a backcourt that was gutted this offseason.
