Clemson baseball continues to stockpile great talent in the class of 2027, and with the latest addition of a two-way recruit from Georgia, the class keeps getting better and better.

Harry Chubb Jones Jr., a class of 2027 right-handed pitcher/infield prospect, announced his commitment to the Clemson Tigers on Monday. The Douglasville, Georgia, native is rated as a 10 on Perfect Game and is the top-ranked recruit in Georgia according to TigerNet.

Jones Jr. is an elite-level recruit who has top-end velocity on the mound, flashes great bat speed, and is an athletic infielder on defense.

“Harry Chubb Jones Jr. is a 2027 SS/3B/OF with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Douglasville, GA who attends Mceachern. Outstanding athletic body with length and strength and projection. 6.60 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, hands work well with a clean funnel out front, gets the glove down early, plenty of lateral range, arm is a big plus. Has a similar defensive ceiling on the mound with big arm strength and plenty of top end speed for center field. Right handed hitter, has a huge leg raise trigger to start his swing, inconsistent timing with future adjustments ahead as opposing pitching improves, flashes bat speed when everything comes together, works both gaps with some impact. As a very high ceiling on the mound as well, works from a staggered start with a high upright leg raise and good drive down the mound, some leg swing down the mound, loose and fast arm. Fastball topped out at 93 mph with plenty more velocity there, went two-seam and four-seam with good effect. Spun both the curveball and slider well and has feel for the shape, also flashed a change up. Excellent student,” Jones Jr.’s scouting report on Perfect Game.

The top-ranked recruit in Georgia will join other highly touted recruits, left-handed pitcher/first baseman/outfielder Cole Cinnamond (10 Perfect Game grade), OF/1B/LHP  Griffin McKain (9.5 Perfect Game grade), and catcher Caden Borcherding (9.5 Perfect Game grade) in the 2027 recruiting class.

Head coach Eric Bakich continues to add to the depth of the 2027 recruiting class with another fantastic addition in Jones Jr.
