Clemson at Miami primetime kickoff moves betting odds more in favor of the home upset

Now that we know what time kickoff will be between Miami and Clemson, the primetime kick has impacted the latest betting odds every so slightly. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Miami is now only laying 16.5 points on the road at Clemson. While Miami was expected to be the sizable road favorite over Clemson, at least the line is starting to move ever so slightly into the Tigers' favor here.

Initiailly, the line opened with Clemson getting 17.5 points. The line moved one point in Clemson's direction for one of two reasons. The first being that Clemson looked the part in its Friday night road game at Cal. Clemson finally put it all together in a game this season. The defense dominated and the offense got better as the game went alone. The second reason has to be about the primetime kickoff.

With Clemson getting Miami under the bright lights, the Tigers may have a decent shot at the upset.

Clemson is still a massive home underdog to potentially knock off Miami

Over the course of the week, we may see the betting odds move a little more than this. No, we are not going to see a seismic shift like we did ahead of the Cal game. While it did look to be a dangerous play heading into the contest, Clemson more than covered in its 24-10 road victory. The good news for Clemson is the Tigers will be playing at home with house money. The bad news is Miami is incredible.

For Clemson to win this game, Tait Reynolds will have to grow up fast. He cannot be reckless with the football like he was in the first quarter. While the Clemson defense did a great job of completely taking Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele out of the game, doing the same to Miami quarterback Darian Mensah will be a different story. Plus, Miami will definitely have a big roster advantage over Clemson.

Four weeks into the season, and Clemson has the record most prognosticators probably thought they would have. While the 51-point road loss at LSU was eye-opening, the last three weeks have shown us even more about this Clemson team. It may not be as talented of a team as it was a year ago, but the Tigers do play more cohesively than they did last season. This team is trending up.

Right now, it is going to take Clemson's best game in years to be able to knock off Miami. The ACC may be wide open, but that only applies to the teams looking up at Miami in the conference hierarchy. Clemson could potentially win all of the rest of their games. If this team gets to 10 wins and a 7-1 record in ACC play, the Tigers may be playing for a trip into the College Football Playoff in December.

For now, we just have to accept that Clemson will need a near-perfect game to be able to beat Miami.
