Upton Stout

Upton Stout is a guy who has upped his rating since he was a high school prospect. He was rated by 247Sports as a 3-star out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas. He is now a 4-star transfer candidate.

He committed to the North Texas Mean Green over other offers like Wyoming, UTSA, New Mexico, and Utah State. He played the 2020 season but entered the transfer portal before the end of the 2021 season.

He landed at Western Kentucky, where he has been a productive starter for the Hilltoppers.

247 evaluator Clint Brewster says this about Stout:

"“A two-time transfer who’s done his thing at North Texas (2021 season) and Western Kentucky (22-23), Upton Stout is probably ready to try his trade at the Power Five level. Stout had an interception and a forced fumble for the Hilltoppers this past season. Stout has excellent speed and can make up for and cover a lot of ground with his quickness. I love how attached he stays to receivers in-phase.”"

Stout already has a trip planned to Michigan and has offers from other Power programs, so if Clemson wanted in on him, they would have to jump in a hurry. It sounds like the Tigers have their attention on other positions they consider a higher priority. If they do start looking at corners, Stout probably will already be off the market.
