Good morning Tiger Nation! Here is today’s Clemson Tigers News
Kentucky expects to be near full strength for the Gator Bowl
Kentucky Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops believes his squad will be nearly at full strength when they line up against Clemson Football in the Gator Bowl later this month.
"“I came away from those meetings just extremely encouraged with our players. Quite a few of them want to come back and are making these decisions, and they can make them. That’s their story to tell, whether they’re going to the NFL or coming back and playing the bowl game or not.“I could tell you the response has been incredible. Our guys are excited about this bowl game and want to play in this bowl game. And I think will be pretty darn close to 100% in this bowl game.”"
The Tigers have opened as an early favorite against the Wildcats.
Ruke Orhorhoro will go pro
Clemson Football defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro has announced he will be entering the NFL Draft.
Orhorhoro will play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl before the draft. No word yet if he will participate in the Gator Bowl.
Deon Cain returns to the USFL
Clemson Football alum Deon Cain will run it back with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL. Cain was the MVP of the championship game for the Stallions last season.
Cain signed with the Philadelphia Eagles for training camp but did not make the starting day roster.
The USFL will merge with the XFL next season.
As The Portal Turns
The transfer portal got another Clemson Football player on Monday. Running back Domonique Thomas, also known as Quadzilla, entered the portal.
Another big announcement in the region was Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff.
This could be a sign that Carson Beck expects to return next season for the Bulldogs.
Clemson made the hires of Matt Luke and Chris Rumph official yesterday.
