Dabo Swinney comments on Clemson Football after the Miami game
Head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media after the loss to Miami. He stated bluntly that Clemson did not do what it needed to do to win.
Dabo Swinney after a double-overtime loss to Miami:

"Hey, ebbs and flows in the game on both sides, and they found a way to win and we found a way not to win. Just an unbelievably disappointing game. What we want, we have to deserve.
"We didn’t deserve what we wanted."
Swinney apologized to the fans.
"“All I can say is man, I’m sorry to our fans because they certainly deserve better.”"
On the last play of the game, Clemson needed less than a yard to score a touchdown. Instead of giving the ball to running back Will Shipley, Cade Klubnik pulled the ball and tried to run around the edge, but he was snuffed out quickly.
This brought back memories of the Florida State overtime loss when Klubnik threw to a wide receiver instead of handing the ball to Shipley. The criticism in that game was while Klubnik made a mistake, the coaches never should have given him the option to throw the ball.
Swinney confirmed Klubnik did not have the option to run on the final play against Miami.
Swinney says the last fourth-and-goal play in double-overtime was "a give all the way."

Cade Klubnik kept the ball, was chased down, and the Tigers came up short.
Swinney says this feels like the 2010 season all over again.
"You have to keep grinding, you have to keep moving."
Defensive end Xavier Thomas did not play yesterday, and Swinney explained that after the game.
Dabo Swinney says starting DE Xavier Thomas missed tonight's game for a violation of team rules, "had something pop up." He'll be back Monday, Dabo says, and will play against NC State

Antonio Williams returned from injury but exited before the end of the Miami game. Swinney did not think the two situations were directly related.
Dabo Swinney says he believes Antonio Williams' injury, which held him out for the second half, was a toe issue. Not related to the ankle injury that caused him to miss multiple games before tonight.

Nate Wiggins also returned from injury, and at times it looked like he was not 100% pain free either. Hopefully we will learn more tonight from Coach Swinney.
Clemson now goes on the road to NC State this coming weekend to play the Wolfpack.
