By John Chancey
Here is today’s Clemson Tigers News.
Today’s Events
Clemson Women’s Soccer vs Louisville: 7:00 PM at Historic Riggs Field – it’s hard to believe, but the Tigers only have two more regular season home dates on the schedule.
ACC Tipoff is approaching for Clemson Basketball
Clemson’s basketball teams got a lot of coverage on 105.5 The Roar yesterday. Clemson Men’s Basketball head coach Brad Brownell, PJ Hall, Chase Hunter, and incoming transfer Joe Girard will be attending the ACC Tipoff event in Charlotte.
The men’s teams will attend on October 25th. The women’s teams will attend on October 24th.
Head coach Amanda Butler, Amari Robinson and Ruby Whitehorn will represent Clemson Women’s Basketball.
The men open with an exhibition against Newberry on November 1st at 7:00 PM before opening the regular season against Winthrop on November 6th. Just before that, the women open their regular season against Winthrop at 11:00 AM on the 6th at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Clemson Men’s Soccer is creating headlines
There are eight ACC men’s soccer teams in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll this week. Clemson United sits at 15th.
Ousmane Sylla and Joran Gerbet have both been named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Midseason Top 100 players.
Sylla has four goals and six assists this season. Gerbet has three goals and one assist. Both play midfield for the Tigers.
Clemson Men’s Soccer alum Robbie Robinson played with Inter Miami at Charlotte FC last night and had this big highlight.
Robinson’s equalizer earned Miami a draw with Charlotte.
Dabo Swinney says Antonio Williams was a full go all week
Clemson Football head coach Dabo Swinney doesn’t often go into detail on injuries. He indicated Antonio Williams, Nate Wiggins and Sheridan Jones should play this weekend against Miami, but didn’t offer a lot of info.
Wednesday evening he discussed Williams’s situation a little more.
For inquiring minds that want to know: we have learned what South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer kicked when he broke his foot.
I think this theory probably fits the available evidence the best.
