The Bad

We were fair to Klubnik and addressed the good, because he did plenty of good things Saturday, but there was bad too.

The Buccaneers led the Tigers 14-7 at one point in the first half, and it wasn’t because CSU was playing good offense. They weren’t. Clemson was outgaining them by a significant margin.

Charleston Southern held the lead because of two blunders by Klubnik. The first was a botched snap. It was from the shotgun, and honestly Will Putnam didn’t give Klubnik a good snap. It was well to Klubnik’s left, but it wasn’t so bad that Klubnik should have been able to bring it in.

The bad snap was picked up by the defense and returned to Clemson‘s 1-yard line, where CSU scored easily on their first play.

The next bad play was completely on Klubnik. He tried to throw the ball away but didn’t get the ball nearly far enough out of bounds. The Bucs defense picked it off and took it to the house.

Klubnik finished the day with a 43.7 QBR, which is not particularly good.

We also have to give Collins a little bit of grief for that early touchdown celebration. C’mon man, you’re a junior. You should know better.
