Happy Saturday, Tiger Nation! Here is today’s Clemson Tigers News.

Scoreboard

Clemson Volleyball defeats Middle Tennessee 3-1: The Tigers dropped the first set 18-25 before winning three in a row (29-27, 25-18, 25-16).

Kennedy Wagner had 15 kills and Azyah Dailey had 12 kills.

Sammy Brown is that guy

Clemson Football recruit Sammy Brown played in South Carolina last night as Jefferson visited Wren.

Jefferson won 30-14 behind a monster night from Brown on both sides of the ball.

Brown had a sack and over twelve tackles on defense. He had 130 rushing yards and two touchdowns on offense.

To top it off, he punted three times for 152 yards, and all three pinned Wren inside their own ten.

It’s not surprising that Brown wears the No. 1 on his jersey. He is a do-everything phenom that is going to be very exciting for Clemson fans to watch in 2024.

Clemson Football one of few teams to sit atop the AP Top 25 in CFP era

CFB Kings Twitter account posted this accounting of the teams that have been ranked 1st in the AP Top 25 since 2014, when the College Football Playoff began.

Surprisingly, only seven programs have achieved No. 1, and Clemson Football is among them.

Most of the others are no-brainers: Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and LSU. Florida State was ranked No. 1 during the 2014 season when Jameis Winston was their quarterback.

The only unexpected name was Mississippi State, which holds the distinction of being the first team to be No. 1 in a CFP Top 25.

ESPN’s David Hale shared this list of returning running backs who had thirty or more rushes of 10+ yards in 2022, and Clemson Football’s Will Shipley is sixth on the list.
