Zack Owens

  • Number: 72
  • Position: Offensive lineman
  • Height: 6’-6”
  • Weight: 375 pounds
  • High School: Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy
  • Hometown: Covington, Georgia
  • 247Sports Rating: 4-star
  • 247Sports Ranking: 198th

To say Owens is a big guy is an understatement. The crazy thing is that people who have observed him say he is a good athlete for his size. If he is a good athlete at 375 pounds, then I would think he will be a great athlete at 345.

It’s not a simple matter for a man of his mass to just lose thirty pounds. He missed much of his senior season in high school due to an injury, so there was a mindset coming into his freshman season that he would likely redshirt, and I haven’t heard or read anything that would change that mindset.

This season will be great for Owens to hit Power Hour, familiarize himself with the system and his teammates, and then be ready to contribute in 2024. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Owens.

247Sports’s Gabe Brooks says this of Owens:

"“Size unverified but is legitimately massive with college-ready height and mass. Big frame fosters large reach. Packs a powerful punch with overwhelming strength vs. high school competition. Simply swallows up many opponents and flashes knockdown power at the point of attack and on the move, whether as a puller or climbing to the second level.”"
