Weston Wilson makes good on his Major League opportunity

Weston Wilson was a starting infielder for Clemson Baseball from 2014-16.

He got his chance in pro ball in the Milwaukee Brewers system, playing for seven different minor league teams from 2017-22.

He then joined the Philadelphia Phillies’s AAA affiliate in 2023 before finally getting his chance in the big leagues.

You can’t make much more of your first chance than this. Welcome to the big leagues.

The Phillies shut out the Washington Nationals 7-0 in Wilson’s debut. Pitcher Michael Lorenzen had a no-hitter. Just a fantastic night for Philly.

Cooper Ingle makes pro debut

Cooper Ingle is making headlines in his first pro start for the Lake County Captains, a minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. Ingle had two hits and reached base in all four at-bats in the Captains’ 10-4 win over South Bend.

New Tiger Walk looks great: Jon Blau of the Charleston Post & Courier shared this great video of the new Tiger Walk that has been constructed outside of Death Valley. The path includes plaques that name team captains as far back as the 1800s. This is going to be a fun new place for fans to explore before and after football games this fall.
