Troy Stellato

Stellato was a 4-star wide receiver prospect in the 247Sports Composite for the Class of 2021. He attended Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Stellato was a speedster who appeared to have slot receiver written all over him. This was good for the Tigers because they needed someone to step into that role following the departure of Amari Rodgers for the NFL.

Sadly, Stellato’s time in Clemson has been frustrating due to an endless string of injuries. His freshman season was plagued by hamstring and heel injuries. This past August, as he was preparing for the 2022 season, he tore his ACL, sidelining him for the year.

At one point, even head coach Dabo Swinney seemed frustrated that Stellato couldn’t stay on the field. No one was more frustrated than Stellato:

Stellato appears to be healthy and ready to go for fall camp, and this is as good a time as any. New offensive coordinator Garrett Riley began installing his offensive system in the spring. If Stellato can stay healthy and avoid the nagging injuries that have plagued him, he stands a chance to be a contributor. A speedy receiver like him can be very successful in Riley’s system.
