Clemson Tigers News: Justyn Ross, Christopher Vizzina and Blake Hebert

Clemson Tigers alum Justyn Ross could play a key role for the Kansas City Chiefs this season
Clemson Tigers alum Justyn Ross has had a challenging road to the NFL. He missed the 2022 season due to injury, but he appears poised to make his debut this season for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Not only does it look favorable that he will make the team as an undrafted free agent from last summer, but now it looks like he might play a bigger role than one might have expected.
Observations from practice are that Ross is taking snaps with the first team and catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. He was also seen catching punts before practice began.
None of this surprises Clemson fans. We’ve seen how good Ross is when he is healthy. The only question is if he can avoid injuries.
Clemson Football quarterback Christopher Vizzina embraces a redshirt
Dear Old Clemson held a NIL event this weekend for freshmen football players. Quarterback Christopher Vizzina spoke on a handful of subjects, including the team’s plan to redshirt him in 2022.
"“I am going to just trust the plan. I kind of knew that was a possibility coming into this. It does not discourage me at all. I want to learn. I want to be ready when my chance comes. I want to be prepared for it.”"
He also spoke on his experiences of arriving on campus this spring as a 17-year-old and his challenges in adjusting to the speed of the college game, all while Garrett Riley installed a new offense. Under the circumstances, it isn’t surprising that it will take some time for Vizzina to be completely ready to contribute.
Fortunately, he will still get four opportunities to play and get real experience this fall. The rest of the interview from Will Vandervort of AllClemsonTigers.com is here.

The last of Clemson Baseball’s drafted players has signed his professional contract with the Cleveland Guardians.
Several NCAA athletes competed at the North America, Central America, and Caribbean (NACAC) U23 track and field championships this weekend in Costa Rica, and Clemson’s D’Andre Anderson won a gold medal for Jamaica in the Men’s 400 Meters.
