I respect Florida State, but since my blood runneth orange, all the preseason hype has been a bit sickening this off-season. There is always a silver lining to everything, and we have found it here.
If the Seminoles win against LSU in their opener, and – at the risk of upsetting any FSU fans looking over the fence – that’s a big if, their profile will become even more elevated. Clemson is the current power program of the conference. Many think this could be just the first edition of this game in 2023.
The profile of this game would be through the roof. Ohio State visiting South Bend to complete the two-game series they began in 2022 will hold an appeal. Notre Dame is another popular place for GameDay, especially early in the season when the weather is more moderate. It will be a strong contender. It will probably win out if LSU gets revenge against Florida State in Week 1.
I think FSU wins against LSU. I think ESPN College GameDay will be on Bowman Field on September 23rd, 2023.
