Dust off the Clubs, Dabo!
Dabo Swinney will compete in the 2023 Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge!
The Peach Bowl Challenge, which has been held annually since its formation in 2007, invites college football coaches, both current and former, to compete in a two man, 18-hole golf tournament on behalf of charities. Pairings will be determined prior to the start of the event, and the teams will play for a share of a $300,000 charity purse, according to the Peach Bowl’s official website.
This will be the 11th time Dabo Swinney has participated in the event. This year, Swinney will once again represent his All In Team foundation, which works to:
"“…raise awareness of critical education and health issues in order to change lives of people across the state of South Carolina.” – All In Team Foundation official mission statement."
The foundation supports several programs throughout the state, including the ClemsonLIFE program and The Family Effect, which addresses the effects of addiction on South Carolina families. The foundation also donates to several medical facilities to support breast cancer research.
Along with Dabo Swinney, several other prominent coaches will also compete in the event, including Georgia HC Kirby Smart, South Carolina HC Shane Beamer, Florida State HC Mike Norvell, and Syracuse HC Dino Babers. Former coaches Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer will also compete in the tournament.
This year’s tournament will be held at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia, and will take place beginning on April 30th and will continue through May 2nd. For a full list of the participants and the charities they’ll represent, check the official Peach Bowl website.
