The next challenge for Clemson Men’s Basketball is Tuesday night at 7 p.m. EST in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts where the Tigers take on Boston College in an ACC game.

The Tigers (18-4, 10-1) continue to be doubted by most outside of the program, but continue to find ways to win nonetheless.

Saturday it was coming from behind on the road, down 3 with 25 seconds to go, to win on a conventional 3 by Chase Hunter.

The win masked an uneven performance by the Tigers, going up big early behind Hunter Tyson, playing sloppily for large sections, before pulling out the win.

That said, a loss there or to Boston College would be disastrous for their NCAA Tournament profile that’s already questionable due to two bad December losses.

Boston College is not nearly the three-point shooting team that Clemson has been to date and that certainly plays in the Tigers favor as the Eagles are near the bottom in attempting threes and making them.

The Eagles are not a good offensive rebounding team, but they’re better at it than Clemson, which most teams in the nation are and that’ll be something to keep an eye on.

KenPom gives the Eagles 3 points for their home court and puts them a little above average in the nation with that number and to that end this team has beaten Virginia Tech and Notre Dame at home and lost to Duke by a single point at the Conte Forum.

In other words, Clemson should win, but the Eagles should not be taken lightly.

Clemson Men’s Basketball is a 3.5 point favorite at Boston College

Clemson is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 136.5, implying a 70-66.5 Tiger win.

John Chancey (16-6, 10-12 ATS):

I’m going to get very technical here: Clemson is an every other game proposition right now. Close game, comfortable victory, then another close game. Based on this cycle, we should be looking at another comfortable victory.

Marty Coleman (16-6, 9-13 ATS):

Two of the last three Clemson wins have come by a single point, with a blowout in-between.  As mentioned above, the Tigers can’t take this team lightly, but I think Clemson has too much for the Eagles this season and too many players that can score the ball if one is having a bad day.  I expect Boston College to want to play at slower pace which may keep the score down for a bit, but the Tigers eventually roll.

The game is scheduled to be televised on the ACC Network at 7 p.m. EST.
