Clemson Men’s Basketball is off to a record start in ACC play, going 9-1 for the first time in program history.

They have achieved this despite the impact of injuries. PJ Hall started the season slowly while recovering from off-season surgery. Alex Hemenway has missed several games with a plantar fasciitis problem, and now Chase Hunter has missed a few games with a foot injury.

Unfortunately, another health concern appears to be impacting the Tigers. Guard Brevin Galloway was recently hospitalized and spoke of the reason in a video he made.

Please understand this description is graphic, uses terminology some might not like, and might be the kind of thing some people prefer not to hear. If you want to hear the explanation direct from Galloway, click here. Otherwise, I can describe it as a non-injury medical situation that sounds quite painful.

Fortunately for Galloway, it appears that doctors were able to surgically fix the problem, and he is on his way to recovery.

We don’t have any information officially from Clemson regarding Galloway’s status. It seems logical to expect that he will not be available for Saturday’s road contest against Florida State. It is hard to know how long he could be out beyond that.

Brevin Galloway has been a strong addition for Clemson Men’s Basketball

Galloway transferred to Clemson this past offseason from Boston College. He started his college career at the College of Charleston. He is in his sixth year of eligibility.

He has brought needed experience and energy filling the gap left first by Hemenway and most recently by Hunter’s absence. With Galloway out, not only will the Tigers need veterans Hall and Hunter Tyson to lead the way, but they will need young guards Dillon Hunter and Josh Beadle to contribute.

Last note: Galloway’s description of his condition was too detailed for some readers. That said, it was refreshing to be told why a player isn’t playing. I understand the desire for coaches to not tip their hand, but it is frustrating for fans to have no idea if a key player will be available or not until the game starts.
