Clemson football recruiting is always news here and it was no different when we included a blurb about a 5-star defender that had Clemson in a group with Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia that will be in the race for his services for the long haul.

That star is K.J. Bolden and I’m pretty sure that was good enough to make that news the third most-read story on RubbingtheRock.com this week.

Other notes in that early morning news piece were the women’s basketball team falling short against Notre Dame and Hunter Tyson being named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List.

Our Wednesday story on whether conference realignment will again rear its “ugly” head was the second most-read story on the site this week.

Not sure about you, but when I read about the ACC and grant of rights, I always wonder if this will be taught in business schools across the conference as one of the worst deals ever made.  It should be if it’s not.

There are many that believe that conference realignment isn’t done and won’t be until the Big Ten and SEC have gobbled up everyone they want.

It should come as no surprise that the most-read story of the week was John Chancey’s piece on which Clemson players will benefit most from the hire of Garrett Riley as Offensive Coordinator.

Clemson football fans are on board with changes in Offensive Coordinator

The piece lists 4 players that are likely to benefit from the hiring of Riley, perhaps none more than rising sophomore quarterback Cade Klubnik.

The other 3 are not surprising either as each has show potential in the old offense, but one could argue they didn’t get enough opportunities.

More than anything though, the re-engagement of fans during the offseason is huge in my estimation and perhaps we should’ve included “fans” as an honorary benefactor of the change at OC.
