Clemson Tigers News: TE commits, Tigers in NFL playoffs, Duke visits
It’s truly amazing how quickly college football can turn on a dime and the last two days have been riveting for Clemson football fans, with the firing of Brandon Streeter and the immediate hiring of Garrett Riley.
Add to that the speculation of the return of Jeff Scott, which many fans are taking as a foregone conclusion, and you have an infusion of optimism and hope that just wasn’t there say on Thursday morning.
Things continued early Friday afternoon with the commitment No. 3 of the 2024 cycle with top 100ish overall player Christian Bentancur out of Illinois.
In less than 24 hours Clemson fans went from doubting their future in the sport to wishing it was September.
My guess is IF, Scott is announced as returning to the staff in some capacity another celebration will be set off.

Clemson football develops NFL talent at rate that places them near the top despite naysayers
I’ve been saying it all along – Clemson develops plenty of talent and these days it’s harder to find an NFL game without a Clemson impact than it is to find one with a Tiger playing a prominent role.
Speaking of which, more coming on Trevor, Travis and the Jags in a while on RubbingtheRock.com.
Clemson and Duke square off this afternoon at 5 p.m. in Littlejohn in a huge game for the Tigers.
Not everyone has bought into the Tigers yet and neither have the computers and a win against a well respected Duke team would go a long way towards rectifying that.
John Chancey and myself will share our picks in a bit, but suffice it to say we think it’ll be a close game one way or the other.
