We’ll get to Clemson football in just a moment, but by now you know that the men’s basketball team is all alone atop the ACC with a 5-0 record in conference and 13-3 overall.

I’ll have more on the team and road ahead later today, but while the Tigers are on a roll and things look good, we can’t overlook two bad losses earlier in the season and how they may affect the Tigers’ NCAA Tournament chances.

The Clemson women’s basketball team didn’t fare as well, coming out on the losing end yesterday afternoon against Syracuse.

Once again the Tigers started fast, but could not match the early output over the game balance in losing to Syracuse by 14.

Still, there was improvement that can be gleaned from the game, as Amanda Butler’s team fought to the end, cutting the lead to 4 a couple of times in the final stanza.

The team fell to 11-6 and 2-3 in the ACC, and while there is plenty of season left, it’s easy to see this team’s improvement.

That said, they don’t appear ready to compete with the better teams in the ACC at this point in their development.

The newest Clemson football players have arrived on campus

Its move in time for Clemson football’s mid-year enrollees as the pictures across social media have shown.

A couple of the more notable mid-years are shown below.

First up, Peter Woods.

And here is quarterback Chris Vizzina and some friends.

After the way the season ended, with 2 losses in 3 games, an ACC Championship sandwiched between a loss to South Carolina and another Orange Bowl loss, it’s a refreshing sign and a nod to the year ahead to see the young guys get to campus and get ready to compete in the spring.

It won’t be long now before the Tigers schedule is finalized, we start putting theoretical numbers to said games and spring practice starts.

Before you know it the spring game will be here and we’ll be counting down the days till the Tigers run down the hill in the 2023 opener.
