Clemson Football: K.J. Henry to enter NFL Draft
The fourth Clemson football defensive starter has announced intentions to enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
Linebacker K.J. Henry has decided now is the time for him to move on to the NFL, joining Myles Murphy, Trenton Simpson and Bryan Bresee in reaching for the next level with eligibility left.
The fifth-year senior already has multiple degrees from Clemson, graduating with a bachelor’s in 2020 and a master’s in 2022.
Since his arrival, Henry has been nothing short of the epitome of a Clemson Tiger, speaking out multiple times on what the school means to him and how much he enjoyed playing for Dabo Swinney.
The 6’4, 255-pound native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina had 51 tackles on the season, including 9 tackles for loss, 6 passes broken up, 13 quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and fumble recovery on the season, while playing in all 14 games.
For his career Henry totaled 147 career tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, 11 pass breakups, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in 1,771 snaps in 58 career games.
Coming out of West Forsyth High School, Henry was a 5-star recruit ranked No. 14 overall and third in a recruiting class that included Trevor Lawrence and Xavier Thomas ranked above him.
He was also the No. 6 player in the nation by ESPN, No. 26 by Rivals and No. 27 by PrepStars.

Henry was a true scholar-athlete earning a degree in sports communication in three years then adding a a master’s degree in athletic leadership.
He and Will Shipley created the 1 CLEM5ON endowment in November 2022 to benefit Clemson University’s Harvey and Lucinda Gantt Multicultural Center and Clemson Athletics’ “Hear Her Roar” campaign by donating NIL money.
Henry was and is an incredible representative of Clemson University and we wish him well as he strives to make his way at the next level.
One draft site places Henry as the 90th best overall player in the 203 draft, and 20th best defensive lineman available.
