Clemson Tigers News: Final 2022 game day, road warriors and offer out
It’s finally game day for Clemson football against Tennessee in the Capital One Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik will be making his first collegiate start for the Tigers and his parents certainly would like to be on hand when Klubnik takes that first snap.
The best-laid plans sometimes don’t work out and that’s how it went for Cade’s parents as they became one of thousands effected by the winter weather and cancelled flights that have afflicted the country over the holidays.
But they wouldn’t miss it for the world.
I haven’t made that drive, but I have made the drive from Austin to Charleston straight thru (about 22 hours) by myself and it wasn’t much fun.
The recruiting never stops, even when you’re a day out from the bowl game.
247sports.com lists Hampton as a 3-star prospect from Tallahassee and just inside the top 500 in their composite ranking and his profile shows offers from Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Ole Miss among others.
The Orange Bowl will mark the end of Clemson football for the 2022 season
Tonight’s game will mark the end of the 2022 season for Clemson and begin an offseason full of questions for the Tigers and their fans.
First among them are the decisions that await some draft-eligible players, including Bryan Bresee and K.J. Henry among others.
We’ve written on Bresee’s decision ad nauseum so we’ll leave it alone for now, but his situation, both on the field and off is unique and to try and figure out what he’s going to do is fruitless. We’ll know soon enough as the deadline is January 16 and I don’t even think Bresee himself knows what he’s going to do yet.
Don’t forget that the basketball team takes on North Carolina State this afternoon at 4 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum as Brad Brownell’s team looks to move to 11-3 on the season and 3-0 in the ACC.
We’ll have our analysis and picks later this morning.
