I will be in attendance this Saturday when Clemson Football takes on the North Carolina Tar Heels for the ACC championship in Charlotte, North Carolina.
My family doesn’t attend a lot of games but we do like to go to at least one every season. Since we live in the Charlotte area, Bank Of America Stadium is one of the most accessible places to see our Tigers play.
If I am being completely honest, I’ve witnessed a lot of childish temper tantrums from Clemson fans since Saturday afternoon. I know that might anger you if you are one of those fans. It’s alright if you’re angry I said that. It wasn’t offered as a compliment.
I have also seen a special kind of temper tantrum: “I’m not going to the ACC Championship Game because I’m angry”, “I don’t want to watch DJ play”, “Dabo needs to be taught a lesson”, etc etc.
I’ve seen it multiple times, not just from random people. I’ve also seen it from people on social media who fancy themselves as ‘Clemson influencers’, for lack of a better label.
I was disappointed with Clemson’s loss to South Carolina, but I never once considered selling my tickets to the ACCCG. The Tigers can still win a conference championship this season, which is a big step forward from finishing third in their division.
Fans shouldn’t attend the game in Charlotte if they are going to embarrass Clemson Football with their bad attitudes
My message to all those special fans saying they aren’t going to go to Charlotte following the SC loss: stay home. Sell your tickets to people who want to go. There is a secure safe secondary market where you can sell your tickets. There is an app for that.
Just please don’t show up in Charlotte representing Clemson, making a fool of yourself, and embarrassing Tiger Nation with your childish behavior.
Don’t ruin it for the rest of us who are taking our families – you know, that thing that Clemson culture holds so dear. Let the people who best represent Clemson Football go to this game to cheer on our Tigers.
