Clemson Football: ACC Power Rankings through Week 11
By Casey Cregan
9. Boston College Eagles – Last Week: 14 – (3-7) – What a nice win for Jeff Hafley and his group of Eagles who have taken their share of lumps this season. A 21-20 win versus NC State in Raleigh. Zay Flowers is the most dynamic receiver in the conference not named Josh Downs (UNC). The guy does it all, with 7 catches, 130 yards and 2 touchdowns. Freshman QB Emmett Morehead was steady in victory. Next up: @ Notre Dame
8. Duke Blue Devils – Last Week: 8 – (7-3) – QB Riley Leonard was his steady self in a convincing victory over Virginia Tech this past weekend. He threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for another score. The defense was really good for Head Coach Mike Elko. Duke is bowl eligible! Next up: @ Pitt
7. Wake Forest Demon Deacons – Last Week: 7 – (6-4) A valiant effort by Wake in a 2-point loss to North Carolina over the weekend. Sam Hartman threw for 320 yards and 4 touchdowns, but it was not enough, as North Carolina has Drake Maye and Josh Downs. Taylor Morin added 106 yards receiving and a touchdown. Next up: vs. Syracuse
6. North Carolina State Wolfpack – Last Week: 5 – (7-3) – Again, I really wanted to drop the Pack down much further after losing a one-point game against BC, but could not because of the teams below them losing. But Dave Doeren’s team is really good sometimes and really not good others. One thing is for sure though, the defense is really good. The offense struggles at times…aka most of the time without Devin Leary. Next up: @ Louisville
5. Louisville Cardinals – Last Week: 4 – (6-4) – Louisville got punched in the mouth by Clemson on the opening drive and a banged-up Malik Cunningham could never get going as the Cards were handled 31-16 in a game where the score was not indicative of the gameplay. Once Cunningham exited the game, Junior Brock Domann filled in admirably, but is not nearly as dynamic as Cunningham. Next up: vs. NC State
