Nothing makes me happier than seeing a defensive linemen with 4-stars or more beside their name who is interested in Clemson, and the man who uses the name ‘Hevy Duty’ in his Twitter bio fits that bill.
Brown-Shuler is a 4-star prospect in the 247 Composite, ranked 48th overall nationally. He was a MaxPreps Freshman All-American in 2020. He was another exception to the June 1st rule, having been offered a scholarship in April during an unofficial visit to campus.
Brown-Shuler plays high school ball in Atlanta, but he has ties to the Palmetto State. He was at the NC State game and spent some time with the other visitors and Coach Nick Eason.
With multiple defensive linemen moving on to the NFL next season, D-line has been a priority of the 2023 class, but it is important that the Tigers keep a steady flow of talent coming in each cycle. Brown-Shuler is another target that could get Clemson’s 2024 group off to a good start.
Brown’s midseason junior highlights are below. He lines up as a tackle and an end in both 4-3 and 3-4 alignments. At the high school level, he can clog up the middle and rush from the edge. My guess is that he grows into a full defensive tackle at the next level.
