9. Miami Hurricanes – Last Week: 10 – (2-2) – Miami had an off week and managed to move up one spot because of all of the movement around the conference.  Some would say the bye week came at just the right time to get back to what they think they are, others would say it was too early as the schedule, albeit tough-ish to open the season, toughens up going forward.  Next up: vs. UNC

8. Pitt Panthers – Last Week: 8 – (3-2) – Pitt, to me, feels like Clemson of old.  They win games that maybe they shouldn’t (see Clemson 2015), and then lost games they ABSOLUTELY shouldn’t.  The former is what happened this past weekend as Georgia Tech went into the stadium formerly known as Heinz Field and won a game they shouldn’t have, stunning the Panthers 26-21.  Kedon Slovis had a good day with 305 yards and 3 touchdowns, but it was not enough.  Next up: vs. Virginia Tech

7. Duke Blue Devils – Last Week: 7 – (4-1) – I made all of the excuses towards the bottom of this list surrounding 1st year head coaches, but is there any bigger surprise in the ACC this year than Mike Elko’s Duke Blue Devils?  I don’t think so.  The first year man has a capable signal-caller in Riley Leonard, whose numbers won’t impress you, however he just keeps leading his team to victories.  Next up: @ Georgia Tech

6. Florida State Seminoles – Last Week: 3 – (4-1) – This one may be a little too low.  Florida State lost a tough game to Wake Forest, but it was at home and there was many parts of the game where they looked completely lackluster.  I am still very high on Jordan Travis, and his running backs and receivers are extremely talented.  They’ve missed defensive end Jared Verse, as he leads the team with 4 sacks, but has missed the better part of 2 games after sustaining an injury.  FSU has time to get back towards the top of this list.  Next up: @ NC State

5. North Carolina Tar Heels – Last Week: 8 – (4-1) – The biggest movers of the week, in the positive direction and all pretty much because of the video game numbers that Freshman Quarterback Drake Maye is putting up.  The defense is still very much a work in progress as they return some projected starters from injury in the coming weeks.  But Maye is the clear leader of the team, and he was responsible for 5 touchdowns last weekend against Virginia Tech.  Next up: @ Miami
