Primetime Tigers: Clemson – Boston College time and channel announced
If you’re the fan that likes night football, you’re certainly getting your wish this season as Clemson football will have its second consecutive primetime game when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts to take on the Boston College Eagles next Saturday.
The ACC announced that the Clemson-Boston College game will be nationally televised as ABC’s Saturday Night Football game next week.
Kickoff for the contest at Alumni Stadium has been set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
The game has been designated as homecoming and the Red Bandana Game for the Eagles, where Boston College recognizes Welles Crowther, a BC alum who gave his life to save others on 9/11.
This will mark the fourth time in six games to open the 2022 season that the Tigers have played at night.
The Tigers are coming off a top 10 win over North Carolina State by a score of 30-20, while a rejuvenated Boston College team got a late field goal to beat Louisville 34-33 and move to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in the ACC.
More immediately the injury situation for the Clemson defense is of concern as the Tigers were walking wounded despite their outstanding performance against the Pack in a raucous Death Valley.
Theoretically, the team should get Bryan Bresee back and Andrew Mukuba sat out the second half Saturday due to a targeting penalty, so he should be good to go Saturday.
A battered and bruised Clemson football defense still has three weeks to go until the open date scheduled for the last week of October
The Tigers will likely be tested in the secondary again as Phil Jurkovec and Zay Flowers can be a potent combination through the air.
The Tigers then follow the trip up north up with one to the south and Tallahassee to face the Florida State Seminoles, who suffered a defeat to Wake Forest on Saturday and then host Syracuse on October 22nd before having a week off on the last Saturday of October.
After the off week, the Tigers travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on Notre Dame.
