Clemson Football: 5 things to watch vs. N.C. State
There was something missing from last week’s game. There were no drops from the wide receivers. In fact, there was just the opposite as the group as a whole made tough plays on good, but tough throws, over and over and the game would have been lost without their play.
Some people feel we should be hear as cheerleaders, but we’re fans voicing our opinion and if someone doesn’t live up to expectations we’re going to say it.
On the other hand, if they meet or exceed expectations we need to point that out, too. As a group the wide receivers were fantastic against Wake Forest.
There’s certainly still work to do, but on the season, Antonio Williams has caught 5 of 6 contested balls and Beaux Collins 2 of 4, while Joseph Ngata is finally living up to his five star billing, if only in flashes.
It feels like this group grew up a lot last week, but it’s important to be consistent. You never questioned if Mike Williams or Tee Higgins was going to make the catch and we need to get to that point with this group.
