Clemson Football: Tigers vs Louisiana Tech final predictions and odds

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (1-1) will make the trip to Clemson, SC to face off with the No. 5 ranked Clemson Tigers (2-0) at Memorial Stadium this Saturday. Clemson football is a 33 point favorite over the Bulldogs with a game over/under set at 54.5 points.

Best Bet: Louisiana Tech +33

As expected, sportsbooks are one-sided with Clemson being the 33.0 point favorite over Louisiana Tech. Clemson has failed to cover its last six games in which it was favored by 30 or more.

Clemson’s failure to cover spreads in recent games has largely been due to the Tigers sub-par quarterback play. While fans are starting to see some improvement from D.J. Uiagalelei this season, the Tigers should have undoubtedly put the proverbial pipe to the Paladins last week – once again failing to cover the spread where they were favored by  30-plus points over Furman.

While Clemson might have some missing players on defense this Saturday, their defense should pose enough challenge for Louisiana Tech, despite the Bulldogs ability to move the ball against Missouri and Stephen F. Austin.

The main concern with taking the over is the aforementioned Tigers offensive play. The team moves as D.J. Uiagalelei does. That’s a big concern right now as he’s still trying to find his way back from some very underwhelming play in the 2021-2022 season.

Quarterback play aside, historically, Clemson has a propensity for not running up the score on opponents. In Clemson’s previous two games, both games finished on the under.
