Clemson Football: 5 Star athlete headlines visitors for Louisiana Tech
Oh, yes. A Clemson football night game in Death Valley is not just for the fans. Recruits seem to appreciate the atmosphere, too, even if it’s not the biggest game of the season and the opponent is from Conference USA.
To that end, our friend Jason Priester of AllClemson.com put out a list of recruits that’ll be in attendance for Saturday’s game.
There are multiple 2024 prospects including offensive lineman Ben Roebuck, cornerback Omillio Agard, wide receivers Sacovie White and David Washington, Jr. along with 5 star athlete Mike Matthews.
There’s even a 2026 offensive line prospect in Cortez Smith.
One of two 2023 prospects on the list is interior line prospect Gabriel Fortson is a 6’4, 300 pounder from North Cobb Christian High in Kennesaw, Georgia, currently rated as a three star player and has two crystal ball projections to Georgia Tech.
Priester is still dubious that the Tigers will take another lineman in this class, since they already have three committed, so it’s interesting that Fortson is visiting.
Fortson has a smattering of P5 offers and while I’m not an offensive line guru, seems to me he would be a developmental player at Clemson, which seems to be the modus operandi for Clemson offensive line recruits, in general.
That said, the three offensive line commitments the Tigers currently have are all four star prospects, with Harris Sewell of Odessa Permian in Odessa, Texas the 86th ranked player overall and the second ranked interior lineman per 247sports.com.

Perhaps they decide to take more of a developmental project with the current prospects committed. We shall see.
The other 2023 prospect is Jamarion Wilcox, who C.J. Spiller has recently scouted. It’s interesting that after the scouting, Wilcox plans to visit Clemson the very next weekend.
Agard is a top 200 player out of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, the 21st highest ranked cornerback and has the offer list to prove it.
Matthews out of Parkview High in Lilburn, Georgia is a five star and the 14th ranked player overall and has offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State among many others including Clemson.
Priester is updating the list as information comes in, so additional names may be on hand.
