Former Clemson football linebacker Baylon Spector has officially made the 53 man roster of the Buffalo Bills, who are expected to be one of the best teams in the NFL this upcoming season.

Spector tied for the second in the NFL preseason with 24, with12 being solo stops.

Spector was a two-year starter at weakside linebacker in 2020-21 at Clemson, where he totaled 210 career tackles, including 22 for loss, 9 sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and an interception in 1,456 snaps over 53 games, including 21 starts.

Spector is currently listed as the third team strong side linebacker on the Bills depth chart.

Spector was a 7th round pick of the Bills in April, the 231st overall pick of a total of 262 picks, but made an immediate impression on the Bills in the preseason.

The final day of cuts for the NFL did not go as well for some other former Tigers including safety Nolan Turner, who many thought would make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent.  Ultimately the Bucs decided to cut Turner and that move was made yesterday.

James Skalski made it to the final cut with Indianapolis, before the Colts waived him yesterday also.

Former Clemson football players received mixed news on the final day of NFL cuts for 2022

In a move that surprised some, Carlos Watkins was waived by the Dallas Cowboys, but it’s not out of the question that the five year NFL veteran could sign with another team.

Cornell Powell was waived by the Kansas City Chiefs after spending last year on the practice squad.

Former Tiger cornerback Trayvon Mullen, the 40th overall pick in 2019, was traded by the Las Vegas Raiders to the Arizona Cardinals, contingent upon Mullen passing a physical.

Mullen, who played in only 5 games last season due to injuries, was thought to be headed for release by the Raiders, but the Cardinals have a need at corner and this may provide a second opportunity for Mullen as their is some belief he could be an immediate contributor in Arizona.
