Louisiana Tech is kind of the mystery team to me, but no one expects them to be very good or compete with Clemson.
The score I gave in the first iteration seems close to spot on in my head, but if you’re a believer in SP+ they rank the Bulldogs at number 115 and make the spread closer to 34.
What’s a touchdown between friends?
The next game has changed by a touchdown due to the Sam Hartman injury.
I had predicted a 31-17 Clemson win WITH Sam Hartman as the Wake quarterback and that’s about where SP+ sees it.
No one knows when Hartman will return, but it’s reasonable to think it won’t be by September 24th, but I’m going to hedge just a bit.
This game is in Winston-Salem, so there’s that, but the Tigers are equipped to handle the Deacons schemes fairly well.
It won’t be easy to replace 4,228 passing yards and 39 touchdowns and my guess is that’ll effect both sides of the ball for Wake, at least to some extent.
Wake is no slouch, even without Hartman, but the Clemson defense is the difference maker in this contest.
