Clemson football defensive tackle Bryan Bresee might as well get used to the attention and accolades that come with being one of the best college football players in the nation.

After all this is a player who made third team All-ACC despite playing in only 4 games in 2021, racked up 7 tackles, including one for loss against eventual National Champion Georgia and ended the Georgia Tech game be reeling in a desperation attempt on the Yellow Jackets final play.

The best is yet to come for the healthy Bresee and Pro Football Focus (PFF) agrees, naming Bresee the second best interior defensive linemen entering the 2022 college football season.

The 6’5, 300 pound sophomore from Damascus High School in Damascus, Maryland is part of a front seven that’s set to terrorize Clemson’s opponents and make their mark across the college football landscape in 2022.

"If coach Dabo Swinney’s crew is going to get back to the top of the college football world this year, it’ll be on the heels of one of the best defenses — personnel-wise — that he’s ever produced. Superstar Bryan Bresee will anchor the middle of the line of scrimmage and, when healthy, is the top defensive lineman in the country. Add Xavier Thomas and K.J. Henry at edge, and the line should be devastating. The linebacking corps will be led by Trenton Simpson, who had 64 tackles, 12.5 which were for a loss, last season. The only real question here is if the success former defensive coordinator Brent Venables had during his tenure in the upstate can be replicated by new defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin."

Yes, Bresee will anchor the middle of the line of scrimmage and Sallee believes when Bresee is healthy he’s the top defensive lineman in the country.

Clemson survived and won 10 games in 2021 despite Bresee missing the final nine games and with him and the others in that front seven in 2021 this defense could be tops in the nation.
