Alabama has been creating a noticeable trend in recruiting over the last few years. They start off slow, lingering towards the back of the Power 5 rankings, and then begin to assemble their class as the summer progresses. They have slowly built themselves into a class that has almost broken into the 247 Composite Top 10. The reason that they haven’t is because they only have a dozen commitments.
Don’t let the Tide’s small number of commitments fool you. This class already has impactful talent. Bama is tied for the most Top 100 recruits thus far. They have the best average rating thus far and will probably stay there unless they start accepting commitments from developmental players.
The one thing they don’t have that several of the other programs on this list do have is a Top 50 quarterback recruit. The Tide has compensated for this by getting commitments from two Top 100 quarterbacks in Eli Holstein and Dylan Lonergan. Will they both stay committed to coach Nick Saban through signing day? Maybe not. Either way, I expect this class to be Top 5 on 247’s Composite before too long.
