It wasn’t long ago that Miami barely ranked in the Top 25 of the 247 Composite, but it doesn’t take long to climb the rankings if you get a few key commits.
Like Penn State, they have seven commitments in the Top 200, but three of them are Top 50, including quarterback Jaden Rashada, which also gives them a leg up over the Nittany Lions.
It is important that new head coach Mario Cristobal takes advantage of everything going right for the Hurricanes this summer, because there are no guarantees moving forward. The excitement of his hire and the new staff will lose momentum if Miami doesn’t have a promising season. Additionally, Miami’s recruiting is benefitting from the infusion of NIL money from their boosters, providing them an advantage over others who don’t have such resources. The NIL marketplace is still new and evolving. It is hard to know if NCAA regulations or laws coded by Federal or state sources will change NIL by next summer. It is conceivable that Miami’s advantages with NIL could be mitigated by next summer.
