Clemson football: Counting down toughest games of 2022 Part 3 of 3
By Casey Cregan
#4 – Miami Hurricanes – 11/19 – Clemson, SC
Let me start this list with Miami and saying that I really do not like the placement of this game.
Like the SEC is apt to do and as Clemson has done sporadically throughout the past few years, the week before rivalry week is usually reserved for an FCS school. Not the case this season for the Tigers.
Miami comes into the season with a ton of buzz. Their prodigal son Mario Cristobal has taken over the once proud program and has been recruiting at a high level, shoring up the future. There are a ton of freshman that are slated to be in the starting lineup on both sides of the ball for the Canes, but one thing is certain. They have (arguably) the hottest quarterback prospect in the Atlantic Coast Conference in Tyler Van Dyke. TVD as he is called came on for the injuried D’Eriq King a season ago and lit up the stat book.
Still, a lot of unknowns on the roster at this point for the Hurricanes. Cristobal has brought a lot of life and energy to the fanbase. I would much rather have them early in the season than at the end, and therefore this is the 4th toughest game of the season for the Tigers.
