Clemson football: The latest on Tiger recruiting post-Peter Woods
What has certainly been an exciting June and early July for Clemson football on the recruiting trail may slow down for the near term future.
While the Tigers currently sit at number three in the 247.com recruiting rankings that could change as teams immediately below them add to their numbers.
No matter, the Tigers have to feel good about where they are considering where they started in June and the addition of five star Peter Woods was the capper on the eventful last five weeks.
As good of a run the Tigers have been on there are still holes to fill. We’ve already pointed out the need at running back, but the Tigers would also like to pull in another offensive lineman to add to the three in the 2023 class and one of those thinking about the Tigers is a teammate of Peter Woods.
"Despite already having three offensive linemen on board, Clemson would still like to add another tackle in this class. Right now the top target is 2023 OL Stanton Ramil, who just so happens to be a high school teammate of Peter Woods. Although, don’t expect Woods’ decision to commit to Clemson to have any impact on Ramil.Auburn, Tennessee and Michigan State are all involved as well, and a decision could come before the end of the month."
Things don’t sound as positive on Monroe Freeling from Oceanside Collegiate in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
"For those wondering about Monroe Freeling, there is still a long way to go with his recruitment, but right now, it would appear he is trending away from Clemson. He took officials to Notre Dame, Miami and Florida, as well as an unofficial to Georgia during the month of June. Maybe Clemson can get him on campus for an official during the season, but at this point, that seems unlikely."
It’s been a fruitful summer on the recruiting trail for Clemson, but there are holes yet to fill and future stars to chase.
I highly recommend you give the link a click as there are updates on Hunter Osborne, Ronan Hanafin and many others.
It’s been a fruitful summer for the Tigers to date and there are more targets to hopefully reel in, but just a friendly reminder that Clemson is not going to get them all and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Finding the right fit has been a big part of Dabo’s success and sometimes Clemson makes the decision to pass and sometimes it’s the athlete who decides to pass.
That’s OK. Worry about the ones that are there, not the ones that aren’t.
