Perfect Game rates head as a 9.5 on a scale of 10 with 9 being a potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect and a 10 being a potential very high draft pick and/or Elite level college prospect.
Head is listed as a 2023 graduate and stands 5’11, 180 pounds and is listed as an outfielder and left handed pitcher from Glenwood, Illinois with elite speed.
Perfect Game’s report on Head includes these attributes:
"Recorded a 6.68 second 60 yard dash time, showcasing elite speed. Athletic and stocky build with present strength. Primary outfielder with an aggressive approach, attacks the ball and reads hops well. Solid release with carry on a line, whippy arm action. Quick transfer and release, arm plays big time. Left-handed hitter with an open stance and high hand and back elbow set. Knee to knee trigger with a big coil, high intent swinger with plenty of bat speed. Gets on plane early, looks to drive the ball to the pull side. Easy barrel whip, swing really projects. Young prospect with all the tools and skills, limitless potential. Good student."
Erik Bakich continues to put his stamp on the Clemson baseball roster with transfers and commitment flips
Head becomes the fourth former Michigan commit to flip to Clemson since the hiring of Erik Bakich in June. The others are Jack Crighton and infielder/outfielder from Rochester Hills, Michigan, Rockville Centre (N.Y.) Chaminade High School shortstop Nolan Nawrocki and Joe Allen, a right handed pitcher and first baseman from Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.
Two players have also transferred from Michigan to Clemson this summer, so the 2023 Clemson team will have a substantially different profile than the 2022 group, especially with the transfers from Clemson.
Bakich indicated that he would dominate recruiting in the state and that’s the long term goal, but given the timing of his hire and transfer of players out after Monte Lee was not retained the Tigers needed help sooner rather than later.
Crighton, Nawrocki and Allen can help immediately, while Head will help down the road.
