#5 – Louisville Cardinals – 11/12 – Clemson, SC

There is really only one reason that Louisville is this high on the Toughest Games list.  Quarterback Malik Cunningham.  Clemson has never lost to Louisville.  Granted, the series is only 7 games old, but still something that has to hang over the heads of the powers that be at Louisville.  They’ve had opportunities.  There have been some close games and others that were absolute blow-outs.

Last season, Malik Cunningham had his coming out party and tried to single-handedly beat the Tigers, and nearly did.  (and maybe should have).  Barring injury, he will be back and trying to put on another Herculean effort against the Tigers.

The Cardinals went to the transfer portal for some skill position players as well as some help at linebacker and in the back-end of the defense.  So there is some unknown for Coach Scott Satterfield in his 4th season there.

I could not put them much higher than 5th toughest due to what is left on my list, but Cunningham is a load all by himself, and therefore they land in the 5 hole.
