#6 – Boston College Eagles – 10/8 – Chestnut Hill, MA

I wrestled with putting BC in the 6th slot or 7th slot of toughest game in 2022 for the Tigers and landed on #6.  Here’s why.

Games at Boston College have always been nerve-wracking for yours truly.  I have family up that way and have been to all but one Clemson/BC game in Massachusetts.  Clemson is currently on an 11-game winning streak against the Eagles, but not without a scare or two, and moreso (seemingly to me) up there.

Jeff Hafley is a heck of a football coach and he is starting to see the fruits of his labor.  None bigger than getting star quarterback Phil Jurkovec back from a banged-up 2021 campaign, and do-everything wide receiver Zay Flowers also returning rather than trying his hand at the NFL.

BC will always have strong lines on both sides of the ball.  That is one constant no matter who has been patrolling the sidelines.  There is some attrition in that department in 2022, but the skill positions will be a force.

The game was way closer than it should have been a season ago in Death Valley, and (again) the placement of this game (after Wake and NC State) have the make-up of a trap.  I think this game will be closer than people think and that is why it is my 6th most difficult game of 2022.
