Clemson football: Way too early score predictions for games 1-6
There was a time when the field formerly known as Groves Stadium and BB&T Field (now Truist Field) was considered a house of horrors for Clemson, just ask Tommy Bowden.
Now is not that time. The last three trips to Winston-Salem have led to a 135-29 Clemson advantage.
That’s not likely to happen this season and I expect Wake to score double digits as Sam Hartman is a veteran and he has some weapons.
That said, the Tigers will have immense physical, talent and depth advantages in this matchup and scheming and dreaming can only get you so far.
Similar to last season the key is to get out front early and take the mystery out of what the Deacons are doing on offense and wear them out on defense.
That’s easier said than done sometimes, but the Tigers had Wake’s number even in a “down” season in 2021.
The Deacs have weapons in Hartman and AT Perry and I expect them to score, but not as much or as often as Clemson.
