Jeff Scott

Coaching Record:  3-18 (2 seasons).

Season Expectations: The USF Bulls (AAC) are entering year 3 in the Jeff Scott era. USF has only won a combined of 3 games in the past two seasons. And while the schedule was not to kind to USF last season, it will not get any easier this season, in fact their schedule will actually be tougher this season than it was last season. USF opens up against BYU at home to start the season, they travel to Florida and Louisville in back-to-back weeks(weeks 3 and 4), play at Cincinnati(Oct. 8), at Houston(Oct. 29), and at UCF(Nov. 25). Realistically USF may be looking at a 3 or 4 win season this year. There is already 5 or 6 games on their schedule that just don’t favour them at this point. The hope will be to get to 6 wins this season, beat East Carolina, Tulane, Temple, and Tulsa. SMU does come to Tampa this season, this may be a chance for USF to get a big win and hopefully turn things around this season, but also for the future.

Season Record (Prediction): 3-9

Expectations for the future: USF has shown that it can win and can compete with the top teams in the AAC, will the departure of UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston it will be up to USF to find their way back to the top once again. The departure of the key 3 programs in the AAC certainly does help Jeff Scott and USF in hopes to turn things around in South Florida. Expectations for USF this season will be to win 4 maybe 5, or 6 games. Next season you want to see this team get to a bowl game and take the next step forward. You have to give Jeff Scott time in South Florida if you want it built the right way. South Florida should be competing for the AAC in 3 seasons, and from there the brand will only build itself even more. Jeff Scott is building something special in Tampa!

Likelihood of being the next Head coach at Clemson: Depending on how successful Jeff Scott is this job could be his to take. He played at Clemson, he coached under Dabo, he won 2 National Titles as an Offensive Coordinator. He could have a hold on recruiting in Florida for years to come, something that no program should ever pass up. On a scale of 0-10, as of right now Jeff Scott would be about 8.5.
