Clemson baseball received a commitment from a third player that had been committed to Erik Bakich’s Michigan program.

As far as Clemson baseball recruiting goes, June was a whirlwind of a month.  Three Clemson players transferred to rival South Carolina and a couple of others opted for greener pastures somewhere else.

I don’t blame any of them and while we would all love to believe they committed to Clemson University, the reality is they committed to play baseball at Clemson for Monte Lee.

The same works in reverse though and now three players that had committed to Bakich at Michigan have flipped their commitment to the Tigers.

The latest is Jack Crighton a 6’3, 180 pound infielder/outfielder from St. Mary’s Prep in Rochester Hills, MI who announced via Twitter on Thursday.

Infielder/Outfielder Jack Crighton, a highly rated prospect, is the latest to switch commitments from Michigan to Clemson

Crighton is rated at a 9.5 (out of 10) by Perfect Game which describes the player this way:

"Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to grow and develop moving forward, plenty of physical projection. Fast-twitch, ran a 6.43 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, clean actions with softness to hands out front, shows balance to actions and twitch plays in versatility, higher slot on throws across diamond, shows on line carry across the diamond. Quick hands and employs a middle of the field approach with contact skills, generates contact out front, consistent path through the zone. Line drive oriented stroke, shows ability to work to all fields with solid present bat speed, projects with added physical strength. Excellent student."

Crighton joins Rockville Centre (N.Y.) Chaminade High School 2022 shortstop Nolan Nawrocki and Joe Allen, a right handed pitcher and first baseman from Hampton Falls, New Hampshire in switching commitments from Michigan to Clemson.
