Chansi Stuckey is a very successful Clemson Tiger, and it hasn’t been all on the field during his college career. Stuckey was one of the most electric players for the Tigers in the mid-2000’s, but he continues to achieve in football today as a coach.

Stuckey played high school football for the Northside Eagles in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was a 3-star recruit in the 247 Composite and was classified as an athlete without a specific position. He started as a quarterback backing up Charlie Whitehurst, but it didn’t take long for the coaching staff to find unique ways to use his talents.

He eventually settled in at wide receiver and punt returner. His first start at receiver was in the 2004 opener against Wake Forest Demon Deacons, a game the Tigers would win in two overtimes. Stuckey had eight receptions for 112 yards in that game. He also starred in 2005 against the Florida State Seminoles, catching the touchdown pass that put the Tigers ahead. He had eleven receptions, 156 yards and two touchdowns that day.

After 5 seasons in the NFL, Stuckey chose to stay close to the game by getting into coaching

Stuckey was drafted by the New York Jets in the 7th round of the 2007 draft. While a lot of 7th round picks fail to stick in the NFL, Stuckey put together a five year career with the Jets, the Cleveland Browns & the Arizona Cardinals.

After his playing career ended, he started coaching. Stuckey started his coaching career at Clemson as a graduate assistant in 2019. He became an offensive analyst for the Tigers in 2020 before accepting an offer to become Baylor’s wide receivers coach. His biggest break yet came in early 2022 when new Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman hired him as the wide receivers coach for the Irish. Clemson fans will get a chance to see Stuckey coach when the Tigers take on the Irish in South Bend this season on November 5th.
