Clemson football: The most important games for Clemson in 2022 (That Clemson doesn’t play in)
By John Chancey
Miami at Texas A&M
When: Saturday, September 17, 2022
Where: Kyle Field, College Station, TX
Why: Have you heard? Miami fans think they are back. I have given them a hard time on Twitter because right now, Cane fans think they have at least five assistant coaches who are all somehow going to win the Broyles Award in the same season.
That said, it’s hard to see anyone in the Coastal giving them a huge challenge. Like we said, Georgia Tech doesn’t have high expectations. Both Virginia schools and Duke are breaking in new coaching staffs, and they don’t have the talent that Coach Mario Cristobal is inheriting in Miami. It appears the biggest competition will be Pitt, who lost both Kenny Pickett and Jordan Addison, or North Carolina, who has been recruiting well under Mack Brown but now must step up with a freshman quarterback.
Texas A&M is not Texas Tech, and this game is at Kyle Field, one of the toughest road environments in college football. The Aggies will likely be favored, so no one will be shocked if Miami doesn’t win this game. Along the same lines of what I said about NC State, Clemson’s SOS can’t afford for Miami to get stomped in College Station and then proceed to go undefeated in the Coastal. The Tigers need the Hurricanes to be respectable against A&M at the very least.
