Clemson football: The most important games for Clemson in 2022 (That Clemson doesn’t play in)
By John Chancey
Ole Miss at Georgia Tech
When: Saturday, September 17, 2022
Where: Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta, GA
Why: We are all hoping the Yellow Jackets will start the season with an ‘L’ against Clemson, but from that point on, strong performances from Tech can only help the Tigers.
On paper, Ole Miss is the better overall team, even after losing Matt Corral to the NFL. Transfer Jaxson Dart will take over the Rebel offense. He played well at USC as a freshman, but that doesn’t mean that he is a lock to operate Ole Miss’s offense as efficiently as Corral.
Ole Miss isn’t known for their defensive prowess. If Tech can move the ball against the Rebels – and that is a big if – and keep the score close, that would get some attention nationally, considering Ole Miss and Coach Kiffin have a high profile in the SEC, and the Yellow Jackets are supposed to struggle in 2022. A bottom feeder on the Tiger schedule playing tough against a respected SEC opponent would help Clemson’s SOS.
