If I think Clemson is going to win their division and the conference logic would seem to indicate the Tigers will make the playoff, but there’s just one problem.

The Notre Dame game is a non-conference affair, so the Tigers could conceivably lose 1 conference game, lose to Notre Dame and win the conference championship at 11-2.

If that scenario comes true, it’s going to be tough getting into the playoff with 8-4 Texas A&M, in third place in the SEC West vying for that final playoff spot.

I kid.  Sort of.

I go crazy every year when people start making grand, final statements on whether teams will or won’t make the playoffs when we have no idea of how the season is going to play out.

Wait – isn’t that what I’m doing right here? Yeah, never mind.

Tough call, but I’m going with NO.

All kinds of things can happen between now and then to change my mind and truthfully, it’ll probably be changed 14 different times, swinging like a pendulum, but I don’t think 11-2 gets it done sitting here in June.

Which kind of makes the final two projections, uhhh, less than suspenseful – at least one would think.

However, I have a plan.  It’s flawed, but it’s still a plan.
