Keyshawn Askew was a 10th round pick of the New York Mets in 2021, signed for $125,000 and was assigned to the FCL Mets in the Rookie League on September 7, 2021.

In 4 games covering 9 innings Askew went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA, struck out 14 and allowed a batting average of only .103.

Askew was assigned to St. Lucie of the Class A Florida State League this April and compiled a record of 1-0 in 4 appearances covering 16 innings with a 1.13 ERA, striking out 20 and allowing opponents to bat only .125.

On May 7, 2022 Askew was placed on the injured list.
