Dominic Leone and Steven Duggar are playing for a very good San Francisco Giants team.

Clemson baseball alumni Dominic Leone and Steven Duggar are teammates with the contending San Francisco Giants in the National League West.

Duggar is currently on the injured list after hurting himself on April 21st in New York.

"Duggar appeared to wince and grab at his left side after taking a swing in his first at-bat of the game against New York right-hander Carlos Carrasco. He subsequently walked off the field with head athletic trainer Dave Groeschner and manager Gabe Kapler."

Duggar’s on the 60 day Injured List which provides the team more flexibility in that the club can replace Duggar on the 40 man roster.  The 40 man roster is the pool of players that can be brought to the Major League team due to injuries or performance issues.

Before being injured Duggar was batting .194 with 4 RBI in 36 at-bats.

Given that he’s on the 60 day injured list, Duggar won’t be back with the Giants until late June at the earliest.

Duggar was a 6th round pick (186th overall) by the Giants out of Clemson in 2015.

Dominic Leone has built a solid career for a 16th round draft pick

Meanwhile, Dominic Leone continues to carve out a nice big league career as a reliever in his second season with the Giants.

Leone is currently 2-0 with a 2.63 ERA in 15 appearances with San Francisco with a save (and a blown save) in 2022.

Originally a 16th round pick (#491 overall) of the Seattle Mariners in 20212, Leone has pitched in 313 Major League games for the Mariners, Diamondbacks, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Indians (at the time) and Giants.

Leone has accumulated just over 5 years of Major League service time and is playing on a 2.25 million dollar contract that expires at the end of the season, making him a free agent headed into 2023.
