5. KJ Henry – Defensive End, SR (RS)

  • 88 career tackles
  • 19.0 tackles for loss
  • 10.0 sacks
  • 5 pass breakups
  • 3 fumble recoveries
  • 1 forced fumble

Henry was a five star recruit, but he needed time to develop his physique to maximize his potential. He has been an important part of the rotation at defensive end for the past three seasons, being pretty resilient to injury, a welcome change from the norm for Clemson over the last year. There is a clear reason he was a five star recruit despite the need for development: he is an athletic freak.

The NFL is quite interested for the same reason. His athleticism suggests incredible upside. He redshirted in 2018, which is why he has one more season available in 2023 if he wants it, but his awaiting NFL career has most people assuming it is a foregone conclusion that he will be entering the draft after 2022.
